The Fluid Focus Split Preload Collars are precision-engineered to provide a secure and consistent spring preload — eliminating the common issue of loosening found with stock collars.

Unlike OEM preload collars, which depend on excessive preload to stay tight—often resulting in spring loosening and diminished shock performance—our split design provides a firm mechanical clamp that remains secure even with minimal or zero preload. The result is predictable, consistent suspension performance without the risk of the collar backing off during use.

Shock Compatibility & Installation Instructions

RockShox Vivid Coil (2025+)
Installation is straightforward:

1.     Remove the spring

2.     Unthread and remove the stock collar

3.     Install the Fluid Focus Split Preload Collar

4.     Reinstall the spring

5.     Tighten the set screw until lightly snug, then apply an additional quarter turn.
Only light torque is required to secure the collar.

Fox DHX2 (2021–2025) & Marzocchi Bomber CR
Due to the OEM shock design, the damper body must be unthreaded from the upper eyelet to remove or install the collar. The stock collar unthreads from the top of the shock body and is replaced by the Fluid Focus Split Preload Collar.
Please note: These shocks require full disassembly to replace the preload collar. If you're not comfortable rebuilding the shock, we recommend taking it to a qualified suspension technician or sending it to Fluid Focus for professional installation.

After installation, tighten the set screw until lightly snug, followed by a quarter turn. Only light torque is necessary to keep the collar securely in place.

Super Alloy Racing Springs are availible in 25lb increments and dyno tested. All springs are shipped with a dyno graph for proof of accuracy. Super Alloy Racing springs help to maximise suspension performance as well as reducing weight and increasing traction and sensitivity.

POM Bearings are required to fit your shock and are sold separately.

The Super Alloy Racing POM Bearing system allows your SAR spring to fit any shock on the market. In addition to universal compatibility, these adapters reduce spring bind-up and reduce weight by enabling the use of the shortest possible spring.

POM (polyoxymethylene) is a CNC grade polymer, allowing machining to precision tolerances whilst also preventing spring binding during use.
